Abstract:

Financial accounts of Benjamin Howe, physician of Whitefield, Maine. Most of the entries record the sale of specific drugs and such services as bloodletting and house calls. The last page has a listing of births from December 1811 to April 1812 which he attended. Most of Howe's patients came from Whitefield or Alna, but Nobleboro, Dresden, and Jefferson are also represented.
